These effects are similar to "1p/2p can hit anywhere" because 1p starts on the left side, and 2p... I think it's clear where do 2p starts. I've directly copy-pasted 'PVYT-KE8T' from this thread to my emulator and checked it out again. It works fine.

Remedy:
1. Please double check out that this code has been entered correctly.
2. Are you using real (hardware) Game Genie cartridge? If yes, I have nothing to say because I haven't this thing. But I'm pretty sure that this code works fine.
3. Maybe, you have another version of UMK3?

More detailed description of this code:
It gives both players some properties of Shao Kahn, including his strength and thickness. If you come too close to your opponent, you can't hit him (but the game do so... that's why this code can help you in the single player mode). Come close to other player, than make one-two steps away and press hit button (A, C, X or Z). Your opponent must fly away.

P.S. A couple more codes:

1) 9G2T-C6ZT + AW2T-CAFW + XW2T-D7FY
Press B button to make fatality 1.

2) 9G2T-C6ZT + AW2T-CAFW + 042T-D7FY
Press B button to make fatality 2.

3) 9G2T-C6ZT + AW2T-CAFW + C42T-C57Y
Press B button to make stage fatality. It works on all stages.

4) 9G2T-C6ZT + AW2T-CAFW + 6L2T-CVFY
Press B button to make friendship.

Codes 1-4 works even in the battle mode (before 'FINISH HIM/HER!')
I have double checked out these codes, so if they don't work on your UMK3, you have another version of it.
